Wondering about God?

Would you like to be sure that you have a personal relationship with God? God's Word, the Bible, tells us there is a God Who made us and Who loves us all very much. Because of His love and mercy, He has made it possible for each and every one of us to enter into a right personal relationship with Himself, and to be assured of going to Heaven after this life. This is possible because God took it upon Himself to solve our sin problem through His Son, Jesus Christ. God's provision can be received personally, by faith, by anyone who will simply take it as a gift.

1. Our Problem. Our sin has separated us from God.

God is perfectly sinless, or holy. 1 Pet. 1:15

We must be sinless to have a right personal relationship with God and to be with Him in Heaven someday. Psa. 5:4, Rev. 21:27

But we are sinful and cannot change our condition. Ro. 3:10-11, 23, 1 Jn. 1:8

God has determined that death (separation from Himself) is necessary as a just result of our sinfulness. Ro. 6:23

Since
sinless perfection is what God requires, our imperfect attempts at
trying to earn a right relationship with God - through doing good
works, going to church, etc. - cannot help us. Gal. 2:16, 3:10, Ja. 2:10

Do you recognize your sin problem?

2. God's Provision. His Son, Jesus Christ, died in our place for our sin.

Jesus, who is sinless, rescued us by taking what we deserve. He gave His life for us, dying on a cross in our place. 2 Cor. 5:21, 1 Pet. 3:18

Jesus' death in our place is the only solution there is to our sin problem. Jn. 14:6, Ac. 4:12

The forgiveness of sin and right relationship with God we need are offered to us as a gift, by God's mercy. They can only be received as a gift. Ro. 6:23, Eph. 2:8-9

Do you realize that God provided the only way for your sin problem to be solved, through Jesus Christ?

3. Your Response. Trust in Jesus Christ to be your Savior from sin and to bring you into a right relationship with God.

Choosing to receive God's gift by personally trusting in Jesus Christ as Savior, results in a father-child relationship with God and an assurance of eternal life. Eph. 2:8-9, Jn. 1:12, Jn. 3:16, 6:47, 1 Jn. 5:11-13

  • Trusting in Jesus Christ (this is what "believing" actually means) is all any of us can do to receive the salvation God offers.
  • Trusting is more than understanding, intellectually, the correct biblical information about God's salvation.
  • Trusting is more than becoming persuaded and acknowledging the truthfulness of the biblical information about God's salvation through Christ.
  • Trusting involves exercising your will by personally coming to God, in a moment of time, in simple faith, to depend completely and only on His son,Jesus Christ, as your own personal Savior.

If you have not already, will you receive Jesus Christ, trusting in Him to save you and bring you to God?

No one is saved by saying a prayer, but by depending on Christ's death in his/ her place to put him/ her in a right relationship with God. Why not tell God now that you are trusting in His Son alone, as your Savior? You could say something like this to Him ...

"Dear God,
I know I am a sinner and I understand that I cannot make myself right with You through my own efforts. Lord Jesus, thank You for dying in my place for all my sins. I am, in this moment, making a decision to trust in You completely, and in You alone, as my personal Savior. I am counting on what You did for me on that cross, because of Your love and grace, as the only way I could be forgiven of all my sin and enter into a right personal relationship with God. God, thank you for giving me, as a free gift, new, eternal life and new potential right now, through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank you for making me Your own child forever."

If you just prayed this kind of prayer, please let us know. We would love to come along-side you, to answer any questions you might have and to encourage you in your new life in Christ (crossing@crossing.org).
