Our vision statement states that we “do not define “ministry” as a paid position, but as an opportunity to serve others wherever opportunity may appear.” What we are really trying to say is that service and ministry is defined broader than organized programs and encourages us to seek opportunities to serve and minister to others right where we live, work and play.
This mindset has lead several Crossing people to begin bible studies at their local gym, in their neighborhood, at their school, and where they work. Some people seek others in need and find ways to love them by meeting their needs. We encourage people to serve and minister at their own initiative not needing an ‘official endorsement’ from the Elders to move forward.
Having said that, there are organized programs that exist just like at every other church. But we seek to keep programs at a limit so our people have as few “church” obligations as possible freeing them to be more fully engaged in their neighborhoods and community.

Some current areas of opportunity in our ministries are:
Community Emergency Needs -- Could you coordinate CCC’s response to victims of flood, fire and other natural disasters in our local community? Contact Tim Smith for info.
Families in Need -- Could you coordinate CCC’s support for families experiencing financial difficulties? You’d be a point of contact & distribute budgeted funds to individuals between jobs, struggling to make rent, buy groceries or gas. Contact Tim Smith for info.
Community Relations -- Could you be a point of contact for local community leaders seeking CCC’s assistance at events?
First Night Newtown Coordinator -- Could you mobilize CCC volunteers at this annual local event?
Kensington Coordinator -- Could you coordinate CCC’s involvement at events in the Kensington section of Philadelphia? Contact Tim Smith for info.
Langhorne Terrace Ministries (LTM) Coordinator -- Could you publicize events and mobilize CCC’s support at LTM’s Thanksgiving Dinner, Dress for Success and Back to School Backpacks?
Food Pantry Coordinator -- Could you coordinate CCC’s involvement at Langhorne Terrace’s Food Pantry, which provides groceries to people who need some assistance?
SonCountry -- Do you enjoy working with kids & care about communicating God’s love to them? During the Summer we need 2 adults and 1 helper to teach Toddler-Kindergarten classes, and 2 adults and 1 helper to teach 1st - 5th Grade classes.
CCC Library -- Are you organized & good with administration?
Sound Technician -- Are you technically minded & have a good ear? We need volunteers for a monthly rotation.
Sunday Morning Hospitality -- We need 1-2 people to make coffee & set up the snack table, 1-2 people to clean up, & 2-3 people to provide stand-in snacks at short notice.
