We Believe God Can Do Immeasurably More . . .When we love God and Love OthersWe see a gathering of Christians who pledge to love God more than anything this world has to offer. We encourage each other to live life as an expression of our love for God. We believe sacrificial love for other people demonstrates our love for God - not just people who look like us or agree with us, but all people with any opinion or persuasion. In Our RelationshipsWe see a gathering of Christians that others want to “belong” to, where the disconnected become connected to God and His people; where the hurting and hopeless, the frustrated and confused of all ages and every life situation can find acceptance and a safe place in Christ as He is transparently reflected in our lives. We are people who relate to each other with honesty and grace. We do not gloss over each other’s sins or blind spots nor do we use truth to dishonor or disrespect others. The goal of our relationships is to encourage each other to love God and sacrifice for His glory. This gathering of Christians belongs to a network of small groups throughout Bucks and Mercer counties. These small groups are the center of church life. In them, needs become known and are met, and we pray intimately for each other. Small groups provide the encouragement to push through life’s hardships. They provide a forum for learning to be like Christ and are an important time of studying and applying God’s Word. In our Spiritual DisciplinesWe see a gathering of Christians who understand the tension of living by faith in a society based on science and facts. We are Christians whose lifestyle is influenced by prayer and study of God’s Word. We believe worship is more than a Sunday morning activity. It is a daily response to God for all He is and has done. We see ourselves not as owners, but as stewards on God’s behalf, giving Him final approval in how we use our time, talent, energy, and income. We practice listening to God, and each other, to learn how to serve God and each other better. In Bucks & Mercer CountyWe see a gathering of Christians who are outwardly focused and intentional about meeting the needs of others. We believe service is sacrificial without regard for our own gain. We see Crossing people who are trained and eager to begin new churches among the 1 million people who live within 12 miles of our church campus. We see Crossing people who understand that who we are as people, our lifestyle, is the greatest form of evangelism. We are people who are equipped and ready to discuss how Christ has changed our life and can do the same for others. Around The WorldWe see gatherings of Christians scattered around the world in churches started by teams of Crossing people sent not to “do ministry” but to build relationships that allow for an opportunity to talk about Christ. Those who remain in our fellowship assume ownership of overseas work by assuming a facilitative role of the ministry here. All Christians are equally concerned about local outreach as well as global. In Our ServiceAll we see for Crossing Community Church is only possible because of the power of Christ working in us and through us. We see Christ working through people who do not define ‘ministry’ as a paid position, but as an opportunity to serve others wherever opportunity may appear. Crossing is a place that equips our people to lead, serve and minister at their own initiative with an understanding of their individual responsibility. This means people will learn to understand they need to move from being consumers of ministry to understanding how their contribution helps reach long-term objectives. We acknowledge our need for other like-minded churches and ministries in order to have the fullest impact on our region and our world.
