At Crossing Community Church we endeavor to be a people who: 

Exalt God’s Glory

All of human history is racing towards its final purpose, the Glory of God. All that we do, all that we are, this world we live in, this church we are part of – all things are intended for the sole glory of the One and Only living God. He should be our singular motivation for a life of faith. He should be our primary motivation for the sacrificial love of others. He should be our motivation for reaching out to those who do not believe. He should be our all-in-all, our singular source of joy and fulfillment. He is deserving simply because He is!

Live by Faith

“Without faith it is impossible to please God.” Following God’s will means taking journeys of faith. At times, this will not appear to be practical, reasonable, or logical. Crossing needs to provide a safe environment for people to seek these journeys and needs to assist them in being obedient to that call.  This walk of faith is the cornerstone of all that we do.

Foster Belonging

We crave to be a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ that possesses authentic and honest relationships:  a place where people are unconditionally accepted, loved, cared for and valued;  a place where families are celebrated, where they are healthy, thriving, supported and sacrificially committed to one another; and  a place where all people who are disconnected and lonely get connected and achieve a deep sense of belonging.

Are Passionate about Outreach

We long for Crossing to influence Christ-oriented change in the neighborhoods and townships where our people live, and extend beyond our region to the whole world.  As we have been in the past, we want to continue to be a people who champion a clear gospel message, courageously and without apology, reaching out to a world separated from God with compassion and urgency.

Are Authentic

We want our relationships and interactions to be authentic and honest. We live in a broken-hearted world that is uncertain as to how to heal hearts and find the peace and contentment for which each of us was made. We, as Christians, are broken-hearted as well, yet we are ever striving to strip away the useless remedies we apply to our brokenness and see Christ and Christ alone heal us. As we are honest about our brokenness we will find deeper community and a true reflection of Christ in our midst.  We want to be a church that freely admits our mistakes and asks for forgiveness of each other and God.

Partner with Others

There are many churches, in many places, that are being used by God.  Some of these are like us, and some are very unlike us.  We desire to partner with other Christ honoring churches and ministries around the world in order to see God’s glory made known.

Strive for Simplicity

Boiling things down to their essence and attempting to keep church life simple and uncomplicated will enable Crossing to accomplish our purpose of “loving God and loving others.” Crossing offers a casual, warm and friendly atmosphere where people demonstrate a genuine effort and desire to live out our vision, purpose and core values.
